Angela on the Swiss Exercise Ball Angela put together this great collection of Swiss Ball exercise videos for her family. But then the brilliant idea struck - why not share them with the whole world! And put a Google Adsense link on the bottom to make a little spare change! Pure Unmitigated Genius. And a useful workout too! There are currently a dozen videos that comprise a complete abdominal/core strength and endurance workout, with some shoulders, arms and chest work thrown in as well. Check them out, try the exercises, you'll be happy (and tired), I promise!

Echo Climbing with Couchsurfers

Sebastian and Geraldine at Echo Cliffs Geraldine (a wonderful German-Alaskan Couchsurfing hostess in Hollywood) hadn't been climbing in a couple years, and never in California. So I took her and Sebastian (my longterm German Couchsurfer) out for a BEAUTIFUL day in the Santa Monicas, at Echo Cliffs. It was Sebastian's first time climbing outdoors, and I think he had a great time. The hike in was spectacular, sunny and cool, and the evening's sunset over the mountains and Pacific Ocean was quite memorable. Next time we'll remember to bring an extra belay device so we can do the few multi-pitch routes at this fun sport crag. On the way home we stopped at Poom Thai in Santa Monica for some raging good (and well-earned) Thai food. Here's the complete Photo Gallery.

Zo and Angela, Rose Bowl 2007 For Christmas, Angela got us a pair of amazing tickets to the Rose Bowl!

We drove downtown, and before catching a train up to Pasadena, we hit the downtown LA ice skating rink. Angela towed me around on my wobbly ankles, and tried her very best to teach me to skate backward. (I'll get it, one day!) Then, off to the game (including waiting FOREVER for the shuttle to the stadium). Angela's a big USC fan, but naturally I had to represent Michigan, the state that hosted me and my family for six years. Michigan got demolished by USC, and we had a great time. Here's the photo album.
